PrintRipper™ User Guide: Tips (Process Linking, Shared Printers)

Example: Linking Processes for “Package Printing” or complex output

Package Output
Let’s say that you want to print a 5x7 and 8x10 package for your customers. With Printripper™, this is easily done.

• Create your first process, your 5x7 print, as an example.
• In this 5x7 process, make the “Save Composites” feature active.

• Create your second process, your 8x10 print, as an example.
• For this process, make the 5x7’s Archive folder your process folder.

• Tether or drop your photos into your 5x7 process folder and PrintRipper™ will process the 5x7 print first and then the 8x10 print once the photo reaches the 5x7 archive folder.

You can do this with different printers or even a single printer capable of printing different sizes.

Shared Printers

This is one of our favorite examples. With PrintRipper™, you can use any printer that is available to your computer: local, networked, or shared.

For example, you could tether to mobile computer, like the Viliv S5, also running PrintRipper™. On another computer, you can share the printer desired

• Set up your PrintRipper™ mobile computer with the settings you wish to use.
• Make sure the desired shared printer is available and visible to your mobile computer.
• Choose the shared printer in your PrintRipper™ Setup’s general tab.

You can take this a step further by activating the process’ “Manual Approval” feature, allowing you to shoot the photo, show it to your customer, and either approve or reject the photo.
